Brisbane & Queensland
Engineering recruitment in Brisbane & Queensland.
A specialist civil, structural and geotechnical search partner. Sydney-headquartered, taking selective Queensland briefs across the Cross River Rail, Olympics and South East Queensland infrastructure programs.
How we work in Queensland
Sydney-first, honest about the rest.
GG Solutions Australia was built around Sydney and NSW because that market behaves differently to anywhere else in the country. Queensland is its own story — South East Queensland in particular runs on a contractor and consultancy mix that does not map cleanly onto Sydney or Melbourne. We do not pretend otherwise.
What we bring to Queensland briefs is a specialist discipline focus — civil, structural and geotechnical engineering — and a national read on where the talent is actually moving. Brisbane has been pulling senior engineers north from Sydney and Melbourne for two years now, and the Olympic-driven program is widening that flow.
If the brief sits squarely in our disciplines, and the search is senior enough that the candidate pool is national rather than purely state-bound, we are a useful partner for QLD work. If you need a Brisbane-resident graduate or junior hire, we will tell you straight that a local specialist is better placed.
The Queensland pipeline
Where Brisbane engineering demand is concentrated.
Queensland's infrastructure agenda has shifted from catch-up to lead-in. Cross River Rail is delivering through 2027, the Brisbane Metro is opening progressively, the Coomera Connector and Bruce Highway upgrades are absorbing contractor capacity, and the build-out for Brisbane 2032 is already pulling civil and structural teams into program roles.
Behind the headline programs, the South East Queensland growth corridor — Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast — continues to drive consistent demand for civil engineers in land development, water and transport. The seismic and cyclonic design demands at the structural end create their own specialist pull, particularly for engineers working on North Queensland project work.
The national engineering shortage that defines NSW and VIC hiring applies equally here. Salary bands have moved. Counter-offers are routine. Tier-1 contractors are pulling senior engineers off consultancy desks on packages consultancies cannot match on base alone. The market reads we publish for NSW translate almost directly to QLD at senior level.
Disciplines we cover in Queensland
Same focus, applied honestly to QLD briefs.
- Civil engineering — road, rail, water, drainage, land development and infrastructure delivery. See the full civil specialism.
- Structural engineering — building, bridge, transfer-structure and bespoke commercial work, including cyclonic design exposure. See the structural specialism.
- Geotechnical engineering — site investigation, foundations, tunnelling and slope engineering. See the geotechnical specialism.
- Every level — intermediate through to principal and associate, with a bias toward senior roles where the search is genuinely national.
